About the Book
Nature vs. Society
At first glance, this book may appear to be a guide about how honey bee colonies make decisions as a group. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that it offers insights and concepts that can be applied to our own society. While it does provide information on how honeybees make decisions, it also presents intricate parallels with the views and concepts that are prevalent in our society, or that we can adopt. The book demonstrates that the collective intelligence of the natural world offers a wealth of knowledge that we can learn from, and apply to our own decision-making processes.
My source of inspiration originated from classic books of the 19th century. This is evident in the hardcover made of cloth with golden embedded foil, which were common characteristics of that era.
The orange colour represents honey, which is produced by bees, while the accompanying green colour symbolizes plants that provide nectar for the honey. The combination of these colours symbolizes the mutual dependence between bees and plants in the ecological chain.

Looking at the chapters, each chapter is immediately followed by images, then the text. All images are taken from the human world, in fact, there is no image of a bee throughout the book except for the cover. This choice, like the choice to put them before the text itself that talks about the bees, is intended to arouse curiosity in the reader and make him look for and find the parallels himself.
In the fourth chapter, for example, which deals with the collectivist society, the images are of activities whose strength is in the group, such as a human pyramid or a group of kids collecting apples. These images are fully spread from end to end to illustrate the totality and lack of distractions that correspond to the spirit of collectivism.
